Kaye Douglas,
Born July 30, 1938 to Gerald and Laura Douglas and the third of five children.
Kaye grew up locally, going to the country schools until his freshman year, when he began attending Dansville High School, graduating in 1957. Kaye was an enthusiastic athlete, playing baseball, football, basketball, and track. After graduating, he continued his interest in sports, playing men’s fast pitch softball, and volleyball for fun.
Throughout his life, Kaye lived with various families, working for them on their farms. He bought a canned milk route when he was 19 years old, and successfully managed that for twenty years. Kaye bought a farm and crop farmed until he retired in 2000. During this time, he also hauled grain for the local farmers.
Kaye has been happily married to Marilyn for 29 years. They enjoy camping, traveling, snowmobiling, golf, and attending and cheering on the grandchildren in their sports events.
Kaye is the father of two children, Dave and Karen, and step-father to Andrea, Ernie, and Melissa. Proud Grandfather of nine.
Kaye has been a lifelong member of the Vantown Community Church, baptized as a child and reaffirmed in 1986.
Kaye has been a very active member in his Church assisting with Swiss steak dinners, car shows, funeral dinners, and readying the Church for outside activities. He took all the required classes to become an official Church member. Kaye was an elected member of the Church Council for 12 years, serving as President for many of those years. Kaye has participated in “Small Home Groups”, not only attending, but welcoming families into their home.
Throughout life, Kaye has grown to know and love the Lord in an intimate way, seeking to serve God and his Fellow man.
